Large format printing, what is it?

We often take for granted aspects of our daily lives that we think everyone knows. To help you better understand what we do, we will be creating articles to address this issue.

What is meant by large format digital printing?

By digital printing we mean the possibility of transferring to any substrate or support a digitally created file: a photo from our vacations or from whatsapp, a design created by a specific software, etc.

And why large format? The best way to visualize it is to look at your own desktop printer, the one you usually use to work. Perfect, but now, imagine that same printer that instead of A-4 size paper allows “paper” up to 3.20 meters wide. And that in the narrowest part of the reel!

Here is an example to give you an idea:

Now you know how, for example, those giant tarpaulins that cover entire building facades, billboards, stage backdrops, photocalls, vinyl wall coverings, etc. are produced.

Of course, not all of this is printed in a single piece, but in several pieces that are subsequently joined together and overlap each other.

As the supports used are usually viewed from a certain distance, the resolutions we work with are not the same as in a traditional printing house to produce, for example, flyers or business cards.
